The Raku House Inn
Easy, comfortable lodging on Main Street
Mendocino, California
|
Raku is a Japanese word which, loosely translated, means:
easy, comfortable, and open to possibilities
|
The Raku House Inn is a collection of four lodgings within a Craftsman-style bungalow a short stroll from the center of the historic village. Ideally suited for our guests who wish to be conveniently located, the Inn offers clean and airy rooms and a freshly baked organic continental breakfast delivered to your door each morning. Its simplicity and charm are appropriate to a small village known as an art colony and cultural center, with festivals devoted to music, food, and wine year-round, along with the soul-soothing presence of the Pacific Ocean.

The four separate rooms and suites, all with private bathrooms, are most often rented separately. Rented entirely, however, the Raku House Inn provides more privacy than a vacation home for groups or families traveling together.
For artists, writers, and professionals seeking a pleasant place to focus, what better retreat than lodgings in a village where everything is accessible by foot; there is no advantage to having a car. Everything local is available by opening the windows or stepping outside; Pacific Ocean breezes, sandy beach (350 footsteps away), hardy surfers, craft artisans, cozy restaurants serving beautiful food, theater, shops, culture, and counter culture.
The Raku House Inn is associated with the Alegria Oceanfront Inn & Cottages just across the street. Guests of the Raku House Inn are welcome at Alegria Inn's lobby and sitting room, the ocean view benches in the seaside garden, and trail to the beach.
